Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (BDAILab) is a research institution focusing on the development of advanced data science and machine learning technologies. We strive to create innovative solutions in order to solve the most complex challenges in industry and research. Our goal is to lead the industry in data science and machine learning.

Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory is a research and development organization. We specialize in providing state-of-the-art studies in artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and related areas.

Our mission is to advance the technology and its applications to make the world better. We believe that data-driven solutions, enabled by artificial intelligence and machine learning, can positively transform all aspects of our lives. Prof. Dr. M. Ali Akcayol

Director

Received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from Gazi University, Türkiye, in 1993, 1998, and 2002, respectively. He has been with Michigan State University, USA, in 2004, for his postdoctoral research. He is teaching Deep Learning and Big Data Analytics. His research interests include artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and intelligent optimization techniques.

Prof. Dr. Hacer Karacan

Member

Received the BS degree in Computer Education from Middle East Technical University in 2002. She received MSc and PhD degrees in Informatics Institute from Middle East Technical University in 2005 and 2007, respectively. Her research interests include Software Engineering, Human Computer Interaction, Data Mining, Cognitive Computation.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Oktay Yıldız

Member

Received the BS degree in Computer Education from Gazi University in 1997. He received MSc and PhD degrees in Institute of Science and Technology from Gazi University in 2004 and 2012, respectively. His research interests include Data Mining, Machine Learning, Bioinformatics.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Anıl Utku

Member

Received the BS in degree in Computer Engineering from Kocaeli University and currently he is MSc degree student at Gazi University faculty of Engineering Department of Computer Engineering. His research interests include Deep Learning, Recommendation Systems, Wireless Sensor Networks.

Dr. Muhammet Ünal

Member

Received the BS, MSc and PhD degrees in Electric and Electronic Engineering from Gazi University in 2000, 2003 and 2011 respectively. His research interests include Network Security, Broadband Wireless Communications, Mobile Computing and Intelligent Routing Protocols.

Dr. M. Rashed Baker

Member

Received the BS degree in Sofware Engineering Techniques from College of Technology Kirkuk-Iraq in 2005. MSc and PhD degrees in Computer Engineering from Gazi University in 2009 and 2017, respectively. His research interests include Web Mining, Web Crawler and Web Ranking.

Alisettar Huseynli (PhD Candidate)

Member

Received the BS and MSc degrees in Computer Engineering from Gazi University in 2010 and 2013 respectively. His research interests include Graph Databases and Multimedia Communications.

Özlem Alpay (PhD Candidate)

Member

Received the BS and MSc degrees in Computer Engineering from Fırat University in 2014 and 2018 respectively. Her research interests include Deep Learning, Big Data Analytics and Video Captioning.

Kevser Özdem (PhD Candidate)

Member

Received the BS and MSc degrees in Computer Engineering from Gazi University in 2019 and 2021 respectively. Her research interests include Deep Learning Applications, Image & Text Classification and Big Data Analytics.

Zülfü Alanoğlu (PhD Candidate)

Member

Received the BS degree in Computer Education from Fırat University in 2006 and MSc degree in Informatics from Mustafa Kemal University 2017. His research interests include Big Data Analytics, Deep Learning, Web Crawlers and Web Search.

Ahmet Yapıcı (PhD Candidate)

Member

Received the BS degree in Computer Engineering from Ege University in 2004, MSc degree in Computer Software Engineering from METU in 2007. His research interests include Deep Learning and Video Noise Reduction.

A. R. Anwar Qureshi

Member

Received the BS degree in Computer Science from Bahria University in 2018 and MSc degree in Computer Science from Gazi University in 2021. His research interests include Deep Learning, Recommender Systems and Query Auto Completion.
